My college bucket list proudly hangs on the bulletin board in my dorm, however I did not do nearly as much as I thought I did first semester. I crossed about four things off my list which contains over 40 adventures to go on, things to do and places to see. Hiking to the Hollywood Sign was one of them. It’s an eight mile hike though, and with the current streak of cloudy days in sunny Southern California it seemed  like a better bet to hike the three mile loop by Griffith Observatory. Brooke’s friends came to visit from the East Coast and I was in the area for something super exciting with my chauffeur/friend/sister extraordinaire Molly, so we met up to watch the sunset and eat some tacos.

Sustainability & Style

These Victoria’s Secret VSX leggings were my first purchase of the yearLulu Lemon leggings were on my Christmas List but I couldn’t bring myself to spend close to $100 on a pair of workout leggings. After some research, I also decided buying workout leggings on Poshmark was probably not the best thing to do, seeing that many of the leggings I found in my size were quite worn or had holes. I’ve had a love for Victoria’s Secret since my middle school mall days, and it has not died down at all in college, so when I heard they had a sport collection and it was good quality I got on it. There is absolutely zero information about the sustainability of Victoria’s Secret, which I do not consider to be a good sign. Hopefully the brand will begin to see that sustainable fashion is something consumers care about and they will release information about the production of their products. (If you’re curious about why I bought these leggings and want to know more about the sustainability of the brand you can read about it in detail on the new Sustainability & Style section of my blog under the heading 2016 Purchases.)

I scored this top at a little sale in my town out of some woman’s garage. She’s a fitness blogger and personal trainer and was getting rid of a lot of her workout gear. It’s in great condition and is perfect for low impact activities like yoga or hiking. It also makes me feel v glamorous whilst working out, which is always a plus. Shop some of the links below to get some fitness or athleisure inspiration and go out hunting for cool workout gear of your own on Poshmark or at little sales near you.

Tunes

My January spotify playlist is killing the game right now, seeing as I play it more than I play One Direction’s newest album (yes, I’m still listening to it). My favorite from this month so far is “Reverie” by Side Saddle. The definition of reverie (/ˈrev(ə)rē/ – a state of being pleasantly lost in one’s thoughts; a daydream) is what I’ve been feeling all too often this semester. Is it really a bad thing, though?
