The past two weeks have been so, so great. I always forget how much I love Vermont over the school year, but as soon as I come back I so clearly remember. The sunsets have been incredible, especially ones on the beach with the mountains in the background and ones where the sun just peeks through the perfectly parallel rows of pine trees. I really just love it here.
These photos were from our first Sunday morning chapel service at camp, where we have to wear blue and white and our leader scarves. At this point it was just leaders and staff patiently (or not-so-patiently) awaiting the arrival of our nuggets. It was quite and peaceful — a true calm before the storm. The campers arrived on Tuesday and campus has been so full of action. I performed a synchronized swimming dance piece on stage (yes… on stage, not in the water) with my leader friends in a Wednesday Night Show and refereed a team competition soccer game. I have composted every single food scrap and tea bag that I’ve used for the past 15 days and it has been wonderful. I love compost. And we got chickens at camp! They are very weird. I’ve also gone on three midnight Ben & Jerry’s trips. I got flowers delivered on my 19th birthday and we had fruit salad and lemonade with dinner last night. It has all just been so wonderful.
I’m going to keep this short and sweet because wifi is weird over here in the wilderness (and because I’m totally rambling right now) but also because I have lots of exploring to do on the rest of my day off. Get outside, watch the sunset and look at the stars. Peace n blessings xx
