Bloom is hands-down my favorite word. It reminds me of camp, and my favorite verse of Edelweiss – “blossom of snow may you bloom and grow, bloom and grow forever” – that we sing together each Sunday night. It reminds me of my favorite quote: “be patient with yourself; nothing in nature blooms all year”. It’s also the title of my favorite song by The Paper Kites. I love this word so much that I got it engraved in a Giving Key, a company that I absolutely love. This Giving Key has become one of my favorite pieces of jewelry, not only because I customized it, but because of the company’s values. The “giving” in Giving Keys has to do with their pay it forward mantra – the idea is that you wear and embrace the word on your key, and then pass it on to someone you feel needs the message more than you. They also employ people that are transitioning out of homelessness. Talk about a cool company, am I right?!
Speaking of things I love, striped clothing occupies about 76% of my closet. And of those striped clothing, about 90% are navy and white striped. I have everything from skorts to dresses to tee shirts to rugby shirts in navy and white stripes, so I was by no means surprised when I fell in love with this striped dress on Poshmark. The interesting thing is, though, that every other piece of striped clothing that I own has horizontal stripes, which means this is the first piece of vertical striped clothing that I own. ~how crazy~. I’m a big fan of this dress and will most likely be joining my button up denim skirt and black American Apparel sweater in my rotating collection of clothes that I wear too often.
Tunes: An oldie but a goodie, “Mr. Blue Sky” has been on repeat for the past month now. Big, big, big fan.
