I have walked into a hair salon upwards of five times with the same picture printed out over the past few years — it’s this picture of Miley Cyrus in her bun phase, with shoulder length hair and very slight side bangs. All of the past times that I’ve gone to get this ‘do I’ve chickened out at the last minute (see exhibit A: my haircut in November). This time, though, I only chickened out the tiniest bit and got it cut to be a smidge longer than my shoulders!!! As much as I miss being able to easily pigtail-braid my hair, I absolutely love my short hair. Shoutout to myself for actually getting it cut the way I’ve wanted it for years!
I’ve talked about my love for ThredUp before, but I’m going to talk about it again. It’s literally the best and I have not been able to stop talking about it since I received my last order. I got a Calvin Klein tea-length black satin gown for $3.96 — yes, a Calvin Klein dress for under $4. I also got this super discounted Madewell top and a J. Crew skirt. I took a bit of a chance on this shirt because it’s not something I would typically wear. I ended up loving it and literally put it on the moment I opened it up to go on this boat cruise! Prices on ThredUp are already well discounted to begin with, but you get an extra 40% off on your first order! Also, when you shop through this link you can get an additional $10 off your first purchase!
Tunes: This post has double the tunes. The boat ride doubled as a promotional event for Calum Scott, who is definitely an artist you should have on your radar. He’s incredibly talented, he’s British, and is coming out with an album soon. He performed a few songs on the boat (yes, I went to a concert on a boat) and I absolutely fell in love after his first song. Listen to his cover of “Dancing On My Own“. And I can’t do a blog post with photos of New York without mentioning Harry Styles’ song “Ever Since New York“. I’m a huge fan.
