A little over a month ago I found myself in a real pickle – I needed a nice-ish dress for a sorority formal, but I also had a ridiculous sunburn that was beginning to peel and desperately needed to be covered up. I also got it in my head that I wanted to wear a red dress, and I needed it fast, so I went right to Poshmark (as I often do). I came across this Zara dress, and it was perfect — I didn’t have anything else like it, and it would cover (almost) all of my peeling sunburn. Since I wore it to my sorority formal, I have worn this dress almost constantly. I wore it out to brunch, out to dinner, to my sister’s school award ceremony and to my sister’s senior thesis presentation — the list goes on. I’ve worn it with my favorite flatforms, my new black sandals, my new mules, birkenstocks, and my converse.
One of my favorite features on Poshmark is the offer button. You can make an offer on any item being sold on Poshmark; it’s a private negotiation between you and the seller, and is a great way to show sellers that you’re serious about purchasing their item. And, as a seller, I am much more willing to give buyers a better deal if they use the offer button instead of just commenting a price. This dress was originally listed for $26 on Poshmark, but through using the offer button I got the price down to $17! If you’re thinking of buying something on Poshmark, definitely use the offer button if you’d like a lower price, but definitely do not lowball them. Don’t make an offer that is less than half of the price that the seller has listed. Sure, you can negotiate back and forth after a lowball, but the seller may be less willing to work with you. If you don’t already have a Poshmark account, you need to fix that. If you sign up with code BMIXF you get $5 off your first purchase (which, of course, you’ll use the offer button for!)!! Also, I am not sponsored by Poshmark at all, and they aren’t paying me to post about their site, I literally just love it (and if you ask any of my friends, they would all say that I talk about Poshmark all the time, too).
