I’ve recently graduated from summer camp friendship bracelets and have started a real bracelet collection. I thought it was about time to step up my watch game, too. Lucky for me, Christmas came early. I’ve teamed up with JORD, a wood watch company, to serve up some good-lookin’ (and all-natural) holiday gift inspo.

JORD watches are made from all-natural materials. My watch, Frankie Zebrawood & Champagne, is made from Zebrawood. JORD has an entire section of their website dedicated to information about the woods they use in their wood watches, and the Zebrawood page has information about its source, the grain and texture of the wood, and its sustainability. They use other woods such as Acacia (which is often considered an invasive species) and Walnut (which in the wild is listed as endangered, but all of lumber used for the watches comes from cultivated trees). I was totally skeptical about how comfortable a wood watch would be, but was pleasantly surprised by how smooth and flexible it is. It’s soft to the touch and doesn’t feel bulky or heavy.

A wood watch is way more versatile than you may think. I dressed it up here with my new favorite dress that I scored at Reformation’s annual sample sale, a black sweater and some killer booties. I’ve dressed it down with jean shorts and a comfy tee, and I even wore it with a suit for my business class final presentation. I love the Frankie style that I chose because it goes along perfectly with my new (grown up) bracelets. A watch can be a difficult gift to give, but with all of the different, versatile style (and even color) options JORD has, it’s sure to be a hit. If you’re looking for something colorful, the Cora series comes with rose, turquoise and rose gold faces. Just want a plain and simple wood watch? The Fieldcrest Maple watch also has a wood face. Looking for something more masculine? Shop their entire line of men’s watches.

And the other great thing about giving a JORD watch as a gift? You don’t even need to wrap it. These watches come in the most beautiful engraved wood boxes. All you need is a bow on top. That’s a last minute shopping (and a sustainable wrapping) bonus, if you ask me.
