The past few weeks have been full of HGTV (or catfish) marathons, sitting in my spot on the couch, and Spotify. My discover weekly playlists have been incredible lately, and I’ve found a lot of new music since coming home from school. Keeping the “Tunes” in T&T, I put together two playlists (which you can stare at on the little playlist pictures I made or listen to on Spotify) of tunes I have not been able to stop listening to. And no, this isn’t an ad for Spotify. I’m genuinely obsessed.
This playlist is the more upbeat of the two. Most of these songs I’ve just recently started listening to, but there are also a few Meg classics on here like “Not My Day” and “Cannibal Queen”. I was pleasantly surprised to find some artists on my discover weekly playlists that I used to listen to constantly, like Fou De Toi and RAC. There’s also some classic JT with the “song of the summer” according to my uber driver back from Melrose. He sang along very loudly. It was wonderful.
This playlist is the more acoustic, sitting-on-a-beach-probably-getting-sunburned or morning-driving-playlist-when-you’re-too-tired-for-summer-tunes-part-1 type of playlist. It’s guitar riff heavy and full of catchy lyrics. “Monsters of the North” and “Can’t Control the Weather” have been on the past few of my monthly Spotify playlists and are just great feel-good songs. “Comeback Kid” is a newer one, from this week’s discover weekly playlist, and will be stuck in your head. Just a warning. (I am playing it right now and will probably play it on repeat for the next hour, too.)
I want to do more of these playlists in the future and keep the tunes coming here on T&T, so let me know what you think! You can also follow me on Spotify and listen to my monthly playlists if that tickles your fancy. Woo, tunes!
